Life
in Brighton
Brighton developed as a
residential neighborhood after street car service arrived
in the late 1800s. Farther out than neighboring Allston, though
still a convenient commute to downtown Boston, Brighton is
a relatively quiet neighborhood with more open spaces which
attracts students, young professionals and families alike.
Brighton's downtown area centers around
Washington Street which consists of a mix of local businesses
and national chains stores. Apartment buildings and 2-3 family
homes are available for rent in Oak Square and Brighton Center.
